Shortlisted candidates will be called for interview, which will be conducted by a panel of experts. The interview will assess the candidate’s motivation to pursue a Ph.D., ability to conduct independent research and clarity of thought.
Candidates who qualify both the stages of the selection process will be offered admission to the Ph.D. programme.

The institute has nine academic research centers –
Center (ADRTC), Center for Decentralization and Development (CDD), Center for Ecological Economics and Natural Resources (CEENR), Center for Economic Studies and Policy (CESP), Center for Human Resource Development (CHRD), Center for Center for the Study of Political Institutions,
Governance and Development (CPIGD), Center for Social Change and Development (CSSCD), Population Research Center (PRC), and Center for Research in Urban Affairs (CRUA). The faculty members of these centers provide guidance to PhD students pursuing research in individual subjects.

Full Time (Residential)
Full-time Residential Ph.D. program at ISEC generally takes about four years to complete from the date of joining. During the first 10 months the students are provided rigorous training through Ph.D.
PhD candidates will be facilitated on successful completion of course work To obtain registration from one of the affiliated universities. are candidates .Need to pay the fee only then you will be able to proceed .
- Candidates who clear UGC JRF need to pay fellowship .
- Fellowship grant will be received from UGC on timely payment.
- Candidates are paid a stipend of Rs.10,000/- per month. Selected for the ICSSR Fellowship .
- Extendable for a further period of two years at the rate of fellowship .
- Rs.20,000/- per month and as per ICSSR fellowship Rs. Contingency of 20,000/- per annum .
- Criteria. For the fourth year, the institute gets Rs. 10,000/- per month has to be paid.
- Sources without any contingencies for one year. Fellowship holders must follow .
- All Ph.D. Programs of ICSSR/ISEC from time to time .
